Ramtohul family thank Brent Renal Centre

May 13, 2019

The family of Anil Ramtohul wanted to show their gratitude to Brent Renal Centre (BRC) at Central Middlesex Hospital, following Anil’s sad passing in January 2019. The family came to visit BRC on 26 April to present Sister Lian Liu with a cheque donation for £2,100. This amount was kindly raised by family and friends, in Anil’s memory.

Anil had been a patient at BRC for over five years, receiving haemodialysis treatment three days every week. As he bravely battled his condition, BRC became like a second home for both Anil and his wife, Marilyn. She recalled how Anil loved to talk with the nurses and his fellow patients:

“Anil had a lot of respect for the renal team and greatly appreciated all that they did for him. The dedication and care they gave him was second to none; even on the low days, he still found time to have fun with the nurses who worked there.”

Like many dialysis patients who often spend a lot of time at hospital for their treatment, Anil grew very close to the BRC team. Nurse Bien Delmundo was one of those lucky enough to get to know Anil and his family well:

“I cared for Anil since he first started his dialysis treatment. As soon as he arrived at the Centre, he would make sure he greeted everyone. He was a pleasant and quiet man and it has been a pleasure to have known and taken care of him. Memories of Anil will be treasured for a lifetime.”

LNWH Charity and BRC would like to thank Marilyn and her family for raising this amazing amount in Anil’s memory. Sister Lian Liu expressed the gratitude of the BRC team:

“We are very thankful for the generosity shown by the family and friends of Anil Ramtohul. Their amazing donation will help us to continue to improve our patient experience. We are very touched by their thoughts and appreciate what they have done for Brent Renal Centre.”
