LNWH staff rise to the challenge with Virgin health and wellbeing event

LNWH Charity supported LNWH NHS Trust 2021 Virgin Pulse Go Challenge as part of the Trust‘s staff health and wellbeing initiative.
Virgin Pulse Go challenge is a virtual global wellbeing participation event, with the view to improve or kick start healthy habits. The challenge encourages people to take part competitively in teams to reach a pre- determined destination in the world using exercise.
LNWH NHS Trust staff VP Go challenge started in May 2021 and ended it in July 2021. A total of 692 members of staff took part with a purpose to
make improvements to their personal health and wellbeing.
Highlights of the challenge include 71% of the participants being more active after participating in VP GO and 87% of participants improved at least one nutritional habit after taking part.

6.Misters, Blisters and Soul Sisters, 8, 171, 531 steps
7.Health and Wellbeing, 7,913,775 steps
8.Pharmacy walking dragons, 7,892, 507 steps
9.Sole Sisters, 7,825,685 steps
10.Excel-erators, 7,758, 994 steps
Wendy George, Head of Charitable Funds, said:
“Staff wellbeing is main focal point of our charity COVID appeal, so LNWH Charity supporting this challenge was a no-brainer. I signed up to the challenge with four members of the charity team and our team finished 10th overall; we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
“The LNWH staff enthusiasm and positive spirit helped to make this challenge event.
“Well done to everyone who took part.”

“The energy, teamwork, enthusiasm and health benefits, experienced by the participants, was undeniable, and could not have happened without the support and funding from the Charity committee.”
