Charity funds orthodontic study day
Jan 29, 2024
Training and education are one of our four priorities, and we fund staff training, specialist training or research projects that would not normally be funded by the NHS but where there is evidence of need.
When consultant orthodontist, Victor Crow applied for funding to run a one-day study course, we were happy to help.
Victor says: “The study day, “Looking back to look forward” was aimed at clinical, and nursing staff and those in training posts in maxillofacial surgery and orthodontics in LNWH Trust.
“I wanted to share specific and targeted updates on areas of current and planned innovations in our specialties and explore how our services could be developed and improved.
“Attendees included nurses, consultants, specialist doctors and members of the administration team. We provided targeted specialty specific clinical updates, promoted the importance of teamwork and the importance of colleagues health and wellbeing.
“Feedback was really positive, ranging from “excellent, high-quality lectures” and “provoked a lot of thought” to “very well organised” and “very detailed and informative”.
“I’d certainly recommend that colleague’s approach LNWH Charity for funding if they are considering holding study or education events. Without their support we wouldn’t have been able to run our event.”
Don’t forget, if you work at LNWH Trust, funding applications reopen on 30 Jan. We can help to improve patient or staff experience and make your idea a reality and would love to hear from you. Visit https://weare.lnwh.nhs.uk/lnwh-charity
