Gifts in your Will

Support a cause you care about

Gifts in wills, whether large or small, are a wonderful way to support a cause you care about and to make a real and lasting difference to healthcare in your community.

We are incredibly grateful for any gift left to LNWH Charity, but we understand the needs of your loved ones come first. However, some people choose to leave a donation in their will to help us continue our vital work across Brent, Ealing and Harrow.

If you decide to leave a legacy donation to LNWH Charity, it is important that your wishes are carried out exactly as you intended. Including a charitable bequest in your will is straightforward and we recommend you consult a solicitor to ensure your instructions are incorporated into your will correctly.

You may already have a will, in which case a solicitor will draw up a document called a codicil to amend your will and include your donation instruction.

And remember, you can always change your mind if your circumstances change or you decide to support another charity. You can amend your will as many times as you like – it is completely your choice.

Why is it important to make a will

A will is the best way to ensure your wishes are carried out after your death. If you die without a will, it not only causes your family the pain of dealing with your affairs, but also means someone else decides who gets your money, and in what shares.

This could mean someone who you would want to receive money from your estate gets nothing or your favourite organisation, which you would have liked to support with a gift, isn’t remembered.

Making a will legally states how you want your estate to be divided up, and these wishes will be carried out.
