Video to speed up patient recovery now live

November 04, 2024

We’re delighted to give you an update on the video we funded to help patients recover more quickly after surgery.

You might remember that Sam Evans, enhanced recovery and robotic surgical care practitioner, identified the need for patients to understand how important it is to get up and move and eat and drink within 24 hours after their operation, to help their recovery and reduce complications.

All her hard work has paid off and we’re pleased to announce that the video is now available online.

Sam said: “The evidence is clear that if patients understand the benefits of speeding up their recovery, they are more likely to comply, and visual images and pictures are much more engaging than simple printed information leaflets.”

If you’ve recently had surgery, or know someone who has, this simple video will give you all the help you need to get back on your feet as soon as possible.
