When we were asked to fund a dayroom for elderly patients on ward 5 North at Ealing Hospital, we were delighted to help.

What was once a drab unusable area, has been transformed into a welcoming space where patients can sit, eat, drink and do enjoyable activities with the nursing and therapies teams.

Karen Keogh, head of nursing for medicine and therapies says:

“The room will be a huge benefit to our patients. We didn’t have a dayroom on the ward, so patients didn’t have anywhere to go to relax, chat or do activities.

“Now, they can enjoy board and card games or watch TV, and we have the equipment and facilities we really needed to give our elderly patients the best possible care.

“Thank you to LNWH Charity for funding this renovation and to everyone who helped with the transformation. The dayroom will be enjoyed by lots of patients for many years to come.”
