Myleene Klass opens Myrtle Suite at Northwick Park Hospital
Nov 24, 2025
A much-needed bereavement suite in the maternity unit at Northwick Park hospital, was officially opened recently by Myleene Klass, a campaigner and advocate for miscarriage-related support.
Most women go into pregnancy expecting healthy babies, but sadly there are many couples who lose a baby.
Myleene said: “The quality of care that bereaved families receive when their baby dies at any stage of their pregnancy can have long-lasting effects. Good care cannot remove parent’s pain and grief, but it can help them through this devastating time.
“Their surroundings have a huge impact, such as hearing a baby crying next door when they know that is not going to be the outcome for them.
“These women and their families deserve more, and that’s why LNWH Charity funded this private, peaceful suite, where women and their families have the privacy, dignity and time they deserve, to start to try to come to terms with their situation.”
Chair of the North West London Joint Health Committee, Cllr Ketan Sheth said: “I know what an amazing feeling it is when you find out about pregnancy. Conversely, miscarriage or baby loss is a most painful experience – a tragedy that hit us when my wife miscarried twins 20 years ago. So, I am grateful that LNWH NHS Trust is focusing on women’s wellbeing and tackling health inequalities, which so many women and families endure around such traumatic events.”
LNWH Charity have also partnered with Petals, to fund a free counselling service, so bereaved families can get the help and support they need after such a heartbreaking loss.
