Supporting Baby Loss Awareness Week
October 14, 2026
This Baby Loss Awareness Week, we’re honoured to stand alongside our maternity service in raising awareness of pregnancy and baby loss, and in supporting everyone whose lives have been touched by it.
Thanks for our funding, the front of Northwick Park Hospital’s maternity department is illuminated in pink and blue, joining hundreds of landmarks and buildings across the UK in remembering babies who are deeply loved and missed.
Marva Wilson, senior bereavement midwife, said:
“It’s so important that we talk openly and sensitively about the devastating impact of losing a baby, while ensuring families know that support is available.
“Throughout the week, our information stalls at the hospital will offer a welcoming space for visitors and patients to learn more about monitoring their baby’s movements during pregnancy and seeking advice if something doesn’t feel right.
“We’ll also let families know about our partnership with Petals Charity, which provides specialist counselling and compassionate support for bereaved parents who have received care at London North West University Healthcare (LNWH) NHS Trust.”
